Party go’ers: Stephen Feldon,Sarn Paroli, Joanna & Wayne Donovan, Sue Clelland, Megan ??? Garry Trotter, Graeme Richardson, Maria Clement (author)

After having the hut & views to myself Friday night, all was about to change...One by one they came ,,,laddened with goodies & treats for the feast... A very classy green table cloth and 5 stand chandler set the mood for the evening, its owner even colour coordinated his evening wear to boot!!!!
With the table alight the feast began, and so did the laughter as the evening wear appeared...sparkling pink pom pom hats...bright flowery Hawaiian shirts...even a sexy black dress...heels & jewelry to match. Much fun ,laughter & just the odd wine were had as the night progressed, then just when all said no more…."ECLAIRS" 48 in fact...overflowing with a litre of cream topped with ...wait for it...yes,, 1 kilo of chocolate icing….now whats that old saying…."what you don’t know (is in your pack) wont hurt!!!! Not sure if wayne would agree….

Now our hut companions must get a mention, 5 very friendly Wanganui tramping club members who we’re more than happy to help us DEAL to the eclairs, however were"nt quite so willing next morning when they along with left over triffle were the offerings for breakfast.!!!!!

So just as they came they left,,,one by one back down the hill farewelling yet another fun and memorable night at our wonderful hut…..Which brings me to another point….amidst our feast...I realized we were only 4 days off the 1st night the hut had been slept in….‘its 1st birthnight‘…. I had been one of the lucky ones to be part of that special occassion...being the unpaid labourers ,,Wayne Boness and myself were assisting ( well that’s what we called it ) Rod Feasey with the building..Wayne arrived that morning – 5th April, care of Amalgamated helicopters,,laddened with mattress , tables, stools, and a chilly bin full of goodies….what a feast,,,great food, just the oooddd beer & lots of laughs were had by all….mmm….sounds familiar!!!!!.
